You glance at the photo, and the numinous light of memory flickers in your eyes ...

 

Ah ... those were the days that I woke up and played all day long ... till I fell asleep ... I never felt tired or hungry, running on the lawn, going up the trees, making rainbows, and getting all wet while we watered the flowers ...

Romances, hugs, kisses, cuddles, favorite songs and movies, peals of laughter with friends and family, sleepovers and surprise events, make-believe as a child with my toys, indulgences in naughty and forbidden fruits, experimentations and attempts ... friendships, people I got to know, like, admire ... who made a difference into my life and influenced me in who I became ... places I travelled ... the realization (or the journey) of my dreams, and the paths taken to get there ...

Memories make life one prolonged, fond moment ... those incredible moments which defy description and which, sometimes, happened so suddenly that they were practically upon us even before we realized anything about it.

 

 

Memories have great elasticity ... they can just go on forever . . .

Fond memories seem to be defined more in the moments than in the big end points ... mores in the spaces between them ...

Memories, invariably, are so much fun.  Even for those of us who have painful memories, there is always a new I born somewhere in the journey, which somewhere gets defined by those very memories ... but for those moments, we perhaps wouldnt have been whoever we are today.

 

 

Things that were hard to bear sometimes in the past are sweet to remember today. And then, sometimes, it also reminds us of the passages we did not take towards the doors we never bothered or dared to open ...

Even regrets, sometimes, are so wistful and the addressing of it always lightens up the invisible burden of itself. And they always make terrific stories of our own journeys.

 

 

In fact, nothing crystallizes our journey into our dreams and achievements more than the memories of how they got shaped over a period of time ... the way we followed them, with all the false turnings and treacheries ... till it happened ... the price sometimes we had to pay ... and a host of bitter-sweet realities thats now tucked away into the sensuous seams of time, space and consciousness.
